“Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works”- Virginia Woolf

What is writing? In my personal opinion, writing is a way of searching soul through words and sentences that a person creates through his subconscious mind. Through writing, you spill out the ink in your heart onto a blank page and create a piece that keeps people coming back for more. Each time I lift my virtual pen to scribble some words, the primary thought that comes to my mind is that something extraordinary is bound to happen. No writer’s block, no mental semicolons, just words. I believe that motivation is key, everywhere and in every way! And as a content writer, most of us love being alone to ponder upon vivid writing ideas and techniques. This is where self-motivation could actually work as a kick-start to your blog.

Writers are a breed of people trying to turn people’s emotional and decisive knobs through words that instigate an action. There was a time when writing was for journalists and novelists exclusively. Others were too daunted in those times to take over writing, it was thought to be a thing for scholars. Now, writing is a way for some people to cope with life. Seeing something being created out of your brains and skills gives you pleasure.

Today writers can be seen in different fields of the economy, using their skills to be an important factor for their employer. Copywriters, bloggers, article writers, editors, storytellers, and many more people in the industry are compiling their ideas into masterpieces. The use of B2B content writing for business promotions and product marketing has given liberty to even those writers who have been dreaming of an audience reading their style of putting up words. But it cannot be all the time that a person would want to read the same 500-word posts on your business website or blog posts. So how do you create a masterpiece for the bookworms who like to read on and on? You’ll find the answer in this piece.

What is Needed for a Functional Blog?

A writer’s block is the commonest nightmare for any made or in-making writer. You keep scratching your head and chew down pencils but still can’t determine where to begin. In such cases, always remember the quote I just put above. Writing a 3000-word blog comes later. The first thing you want is to write. When you get an attitude from your brain and words won’t come out, just scribble.

Let’s make this tutorial-cum-blog a bit more interesting. Have you seen schizophrenics scribble nonsense on a piece of paper? Doctors at mental institutions have used insensible scribbling as a way of getting the patient to speak out their mind. It was noted in a combined experiment that patients who scribbled every day, began writing words and small statements unconsciously. Which implied that hidden thoughts of the subconscious can come out through our motor skills unknowingly if we stimulate it enough.

In a similar psychological manner, the thought flow of a normal person can be stimulated if you actually try pulling out some blockages. Whenever you’re hit by the writer’s block, scribble nonsense. Not literally, of course. But you must put the pen down and move it. Write words, write statements, write about your day or write about your dreams but just start writing. Gradually after some time, you’ll know what you need to write about and how to write it.

How to Plan the Blog?

When you’re done with all the introspection with your coffee mug, it’s time to present the idea that you have, to the audience you need to give it to. Now, not everyone is a lover of abstract art, some people need a straighter, clearer idea along with a creative standpoint. So how do you represent an idea that you have formed through words?

If you’re a writer, you must be a bookworm too. When you read Agatha Christie, you see the plot being defined through different timelines and character connected to one single incident of murder or forgery. The order of the plot keeps you running towards the central story. Once you have an object, a social issue or a technical question in aim, you have to think of explaining it in step-by-step definitions and clever headers that point towards the object or question in your perspective. That’s all about B2B content writing in a nutshell.

Finding the Question

What’s in your blog for someone to read it? The web is a library and if someone goes to the library, they go those books which have the information they want to consume. Here comes the knowledge of the Internet society. In B2B content writing, the blog you write represents your services or. Research is the basis of such blogs. When you have studied the products and services of your client, brainstorm yourself with real-life situations wherein your services or products will help you. Then you can ask a question which intrigues the client with a solution to one of their many problems.

In a somewhat similar way, writing a personal blog, if you’re an independent blogger, requires a short self-analysis.

What do you generally like to gain information about? – Think of your favourite reading platform. Do you like reading about adventure sports? Or are you a food writer? Think of info on these things few people know of or if you have your own target audience seeking knowledge. ‘Where do you find the best cakes in town?‘ or ‘when is the best time for river rafting in Colorado?’

When you understand what your object or action in view is, you can begin with the collection of data to enliven it with.

Providing the Solution

You’re the instigator of the question in the minds of your audience. Now you must come up with the solution to the problem in question. In order to make your blog capturing, it must be evident from your writing that you don’t suck at the topic or problem you’re writing about as a professional. If the reader feels that some information, which might be just an out-of-order data, is not related or is misleading to them, they’ll lose interest the very moment. A blog must be a block-by-block representation of data in a readable format. The simplest part of the whole story or discussion must be the beginning, and then you should take into consideration the most intricate data in the central paragraphs. Towards the end, explain to the audience in short about the advantages of the product or service in question, or explain your opinion on a discussion in short and ask for their too.

Research and Hypothesis

When writing about an international agenda or a political view, going with just the knowledge you have in your head would be like walking backward with eyes closed. You can walk, but you’ll get hit by something or the other. Writing about anything, which is showcased to an audience, requires accurate knowledge and references. The info you put in must be from reliable sources. Research about the question in your mind. Take into consideration all the signposts that relate to your object in question. For example, when writing about a product, find out all the uses of the product, look for the problems that the product can solve, how is the product different from the rest of the products for a similar usage, etc. Then research extensively on all of these signposts individually. The better you break down the complexity of the article, the more appreciation you get from your audience. Remember, research is what gets you the idea for words and statements.

Always know that there is a difference between research papers and blogs. Writing unbiased content is attractive but the audiences are full of people looking for a different set of advice and thoughts. After you’ve completed your research, you must create your own hypothesis around the fact or question in point. Including a personal opinion is always important for a blogger. While writing, your personal emotion about the question sparkles up your blog and you drop in the exact words you need in your B2B content writing. Your hypothesis will mark your blog with your own personal style and theme.

Analysis after Completion

Getting material to write about takes Google searches. But the people who come to your blog would not like it if a point from the blog is obscure to them. As said before, you must always know that you’re the expert here, and an expert knows it all. Analyse your writing by proofreading it several times. Find out statements and points that are cramped in between unnecessary yapping about a different thing. Bring them out in the open. Look for points which could require a higher level of knowledge in the field. Explain them through examples and if possible include links to other readings and experiments that could help the readers discern for themselves.

The Aftermath

Being hungry takes you places. A true writer would always be anxious about the reaction on their blog, even though they have taken all their time to contemplate every point in detail. When the information is completely spread over the blog, the conclusion cannot be a boring question. If you’re the one who has compiled all the information and weighed two different sides of the subject, it must be you who has the foremost opinion on how the article and the research would help a person. B2B content writing requires the presentation of opinions in a way that alters the perception of the audience towards the services or products of your client. If it is a new thing in the market, then you have the freedom to focus on the disadvantages as well. Make the conclusion relevant to the question you asked at the beginning of the blog.

Writing seems to be easy for most people. Give them a page to fill, and they don’t go halfway through. If you have a mind that can play with words, do not let judgments unnerve you. Sharpening the axe before the kill is as important as the swing of the blade.
