Guys and girls, if you live in 2018, you HAVE TO be familiar with some of the most common abbreviations used these days. Abbreviations or acronyms or short forms like–
BTW – By The Way
JK – Just Kidding

BRB – Be Right Back

OMG – Oh My God
These short-forms are used in daily conversations and are generally informal. Talking about the written communication, numerous abbreviations are used there too. Writers, especially content writers use several short forms to communicate their message without using up many characters on their blogs or social media posts. Meaning – To Be Honest

IMHO or JMHO

Meaning – In My Humble Opinion or Just My Humble Opinion

These expressions are used to demonstrate humility while simultaneously making a suggestion or posing an argument in online conversation, whether on online forums or social media discussions. These abbreviations are often used in blogs and guest blogs.

Example: IMHO, Katy Perry is one of the most talented modern artists in pop music.

OTOH

Meaning – On The Other Hand

OTOH is used when a person wants to list items on both sides of the discussion or an argument. The abbreviation is commonly used in emails and text messages, and also on social media platforms such as Reddit.

Example: I, OTOH, think it serves as a very fitting symbol.

FYI

Meaning – For Your Information

P.S.

Meaning – Post Scriptum or Postscript

AKA or a.k.a.

Meaning – Also Known As

This abbreviation is used to refer to or describe a person when he/she has another name. In simple words, it is used when using an alternate name for someone or something on different platforms.

Example: Eminem, a.k.a. Marshal Mathers or God of Rap.

i.e.

Meaning – id est, the Latin word “in other words” or “that is”

Meaning – Rest In Peace

R.I.P. is commonly used on social media to describe the end of something on a lighter and funnier note, and not with the intention of describing death.
