Are you one of the content writers working for a company providing content writing services? If yes, then welcome buddy, grab a cup of coffee and let’s discuss the horrors of writing, the tragic memories of our editors sending articles back as if they were extremely irrelevant, and our clients failing to understand the content provided to them (not often though). But having done all this, let’s also discuss why our clients or our editors send our articles back? One of the most common reasons is that they may not understand what we are trying to convey. Now how do you solve this problem when writing a piece of content? With all the past experience of rejected articles, multiple rewrites, and extended sessions of conversations with my editor, I present to you a blog on how to write content that can be understood by everyone… And I hope you understand what I am trying to convey! *Smiles Slyly*
Keep it Simple
There is a chance that your content is going to be read and viewed by a lot of people. These people might be from different educational backgrounds. Some may have a good understanding of the language and some may not. Now again considering the fact that you have a broader target audience, it is important that they understand what you are trying to say through your writing. So my advice here would be to include simpler words. This is because not everyone in your audience will have a master’s degree in English. Apart from a person’s proficiency in English, it should also be noted that less complex words are easy to understand. If a person finds it easy to understand what you have written, there is a good chance that he/she will read your entire article.

Keep the Flow Intact
If you ask your editor why your article was rejected, there is a possibility that he may say ”the flow was not proper and it’s difficult to understand what you are trying to convey”. Well, such a situation is annoying because you feel like you’ve written the article in the right manner. But the same is not the case and there are high chances that your content does not have proper flow and you need to streamline it. In such a case, apart from the process of merely writing, you need to follow a few things. These include:
- Maintaining complete focus when writing: Focus is one of the qualities that a writer can have. This is because when you completely focus on writing an article, you are able to create the next sentences easily. If you get distracted often, then you may end up taking more time to complete the article and it may require rework as well.
- Keep your thesaurus handy: When you have complex words that you feel won’t be understood by all your readers, refer to your thesaurus. This will help you have a wide variety of synonyms that can be used. Moreover, it will make the writing easier for the readers to understand.
- Know Your Audience: When you know your audience, the writing process is simplified. For instance, if you are writing an article that is specifically targeted to the youth, having a casual tone can help. But at the same time, if you are writing for a professional audience such as CEOs, CFOs, and directors, having a formal tone and short sentences help in conveying the message to them in a single read.
To know how to write articles that can be understood by everyone, you need to read different writing styles. When you read books, articles, blogs etc. from a varied genre of writers, you get to know how they weave their words to keep the readers interested in their writing. This is one of the few things that can help you in improving your own writing style overall.
Keep Proofreading
We at Spacebar, believe in one phrase “Go sleep over your article”. By this, we mean that once you are done writing your article, you need to proofread it the next day. By doing so, we make sure that our writers are in a state of mind that can make the entire proofreading process easy. When you proofread properly, you can easily spot the problems in your writing. Apart from this, the writer can also make sure that the blog is written in such a way that it can be understood by everyone. Always make sure that you are not distracted when proofreading your work. Also, you can always try copy-pasting your article to a different format during the proofreading process. This will help you identify errors or mistakes that could have been missed if you proofread your article in the same format that you wrote.

Provide Graphics
When writing a blog, ensure that your article or blog has enough graphics that are related to the content. This is because when you include media such as images or GIFs, it makes the blog much more interesting for the reader. Apart from this, the media included in the blog also helps in supporting the claims stated in a blog. For instance, if you are quoting a statistic from a particular website, you can support it by images or graphs of the same statistic. This not only makes your article presentable, but it also states as a viable source of information. Moreover, it is easier to understand an illustration instead of writing it down for the readers. Plus, illustrations allows the readers to quickly go through what you have to say. Lastly, when graphics or illustrations, you do not need to explain them in the form of texts. So it saves you time.
These are some of the ways to write content that can be understood by almost everyone and anyone. Writing content is more of an art than a mere profession. You may either hire a content writer to write content for you or if you don’t wish to hire a full-time writer for your firm, you can choose to get in touch with a firm providing content writing services. A content agency will make sure that your work is delivered on time and it meets your expectations as well. If you want your content to be written by a firm providing content writing services, take a look at their samples. By doing so, you can know if the organization is capable to match your standards. If not, looking for other firms is always an option.
